Why combine Arts (Advanced) with Law (Honours)?

| Tertiary Qualifications | The Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is not an entry program. Admission will be by application. Places will be limited and students with a GPA in the range of 5.00-6.00 (depending on places available) may be invited in their penultimate year to apply for the program along with other eligible Bachelor of Laws students. If accepted into the program, the Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) with Bachelor of Laws double degree will be discontinued and eligible students will be admitted into the Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) double degree. All courses completed under the Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) with Bachelor of Laws double degree are automatically counted towards the Honours double degree. | |

Degree Structure
The Honours Degree of the Bachelor of Laws provides a deeper knowledge in a particular area of law, with a focus on high level research and writing skills. Students will develop a greater understanding of original research, and learn to construct, refine, develop and write a major research essay. Graduates with Honours will be particularly suited to careers involving research. The program is structured to incorporate a substantial research focus.
The Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 4.5 years.

- Core courses to the value of 63 units
- A major to the value of 24 units in Arts (27 units for Mathematical Sciences major), including ARTS 3002 Arts Advanced Research Project which substitutes for the 6-unit major capstone course
- Arts closed elective courses to the value of 6 units (3 units if studying Mathematical Sciences major)
- Law closed elective courses to the value of 12 units
- Research dissertation courses to the value of 9 units
