About Degree

Scale up

Project management is about delivering successful results for business, government and the community. It requires passion, resolve and vision. This one-year degree will set you up to manage projects at whole new scales and levels of complexity.

What will you do?

Our Graduate Diploma in Project Management places a strong emphasis on holistic and systems-based project management. You will:

  • learn scalable project management concepts, methodologies and tools
  • build your understandings around world-leading practices (PMBOK® Guide and PRINCE2™)*
  • take courses in Enterprise Transformations, and Portfolios and Programs Management
  • specialise in either complex project management or project management controls
  • confidently apply your learning to meet professional and organisational goals
  • develop the leadership skills required for large-scale projects.

Where could it take you?

You could organise major sporting events or coordinate living arts festivals. You might manage megaprojects in healthcare, science, manufacturing, catering, entertainment or the defence sector. Perhaps you’ll head a marketing team in Silicon Valley or oversee the development of a multi-storey tower in Dubai. The graduate diploma can also lead into our Master of Project Management.

*PMI and PMBOK are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc.

Degree Structure

Students will then progress to courses in Enterprise Transformations, and Portfolios and Programs Management which all extend knowledge gained in the earlier courses.

At this point in the program, students will choose to undertake the course:

  • Complex Project Management 1 (for students operating in complex environments such as enterprise focused, software, defence, entrepreneurial and most government-initiated social programs), or
  • Project Management Controls (for students that operate in linear projects, such as construction, ship building etc).

Areas of Specialisation

As project management is relevant across a broad range of different industries and occupations, students can use their own chosen field or interest and apply this to their assignments and class discussion.
