Our new Undergraduate Certificate in Educational Media provides a valuable introduction to this rewarding field. It’s ideal for upskilling, strengthening your CV, or laying the foundations for a full, related bachelor degree.


What will you do?

Conducted over six months full-time or 12 months part-time, this highly industry-informed program is designed and taught by our world-class, research-active education and digital media experts. Through a flexible combination of face-to-face and digital learning, you will:

  • gain a broad understanding of changing media technologies’ role and impact in teaching and broader society
  • build fundamental skills in the design, production and management of digital learning resources
  • learn to critically interpret professional, ethical and policy issues as they relate to educational media, from local and global perspectives.

You could go on to an arts diploma, Bachelor of Media, or even a double degree—whether to start your first career, or an exciting new one. You might draw on your enhanced capabilities to step up in an existing role, whether as a teacher or educational learning designer.     Recent Secondary EducationA completed Australian Year 12 secondary schooling qualification (or overseas equivalent) (no minimum ATAR required).
    Higher Education StudyCompletion of at least six months full time equivalent higher education study (the number of courses and units will vary depending on your prior institution however at the University of APSB, this equates to 4 courses / 12 units).

    Completion of a recognised tertiary enabling program will also be considered.

    Vocational Education and Training (VET) studyYou must have completed an AQF Certificate III or above from a Registered Training Organisation.
    Work and life experienceTo be eligible to sit the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) as as pathway for entry, you must be 18 years or over before 1 February 2023.

    Alternatively, completion of at least three years of full time equivalent employment with appropriate experience.
