About Degree
Make an impact
Every day, advances in science and technology help ensure continued food security for Earth’s inhabitants. Advocacy is of equal importance on the global stage, with inequity and environmental damage rife across food systems. Finding solutions that support and sustain human life is an ongoing and increasingly exciting challenge.
What will you do?
Delivered over six months full-time, our Graduate Certificate in Global Food and Nutrition Science covers the foundations of the field. You will:
- expand your understanding of global food security, safety, and sustainability
- explore current food trends and opportunities for industry
- learn about advances in processing and preservation
- apply sensory and flavour science to new product development
- consider emerging economies and agricultural markets
- build peer relationships in your own learning space, within the University’s dedicated Food Innovation Laboratory
Where could it take you?
You might promote biodegradable packaging in Japan or write policy to increase the affordability of fresh produce. You could help fight poverty in rural communities overseas. Perhaps you’ll go on to complete your master’s and win The World Food Prize with a breakthrough innovation.
