Fast-track your career in music

Do you want to perform as an artist? Or write and produce behind the scenes? There’s so much more to the music industry than the voices we hear on the radio and the stars on stage.

Commercial music professionals are business and software savvy. They’re creative, innovative and always ready to collaborate.

What will you do?

Our Diploma in Music (Commercial Music and Song Writing) prepares you for the entertainment and media industries of the 21st century. You will:

  • develop song writing and composition skills in a variety of contemporary music genres
  • take courses in sound recording and production, music theory, and business
  • create and present original work
  • get real industry experience
  • attend presentations by music guests with international profiles and learn from active professionals.

If you want to study further you’ll also collect 24 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Music (Popular Music).

Where could it take you?

Our music graduates go on to all sorts of exciting careers. You could be performing to thousands on the festival circuit, or a lyricist on a song writing team for your favourite artist. You might sell original beats and instrumental tracks for games and films. Perhaps you’ll guide and record emerging artists in the studio.
