Prof. PhD Supervisor. GAO Xiyan

On February 12, 2025, Prof. PhD Supervisor. GAO Xiyan was officially appointed as a doctoral supervisor by The Asia Pacific School of Business, Executive Vice Dean of the Joint Graduate School of Traditional Medicine, Deputy Director of the Degree Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Academic Ethics and Moral Review Committee.

Prof. PhD Supervisor. Gao Xiyan, Doctor of Medicine, Director of the Acupuncture Research Institute of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Second-level Professor, Leader of Acupuncture Discipline, Doctoral Supervisor, and Postdoctoral Supervisor. In 1985, he studied for a master's degree in acupuncture under the tutelage of Professor Shao Jingming. After graduation, he stayed at the school to engage in acupuncture teaching and clinical work. From 1992 to 1995, he studied for a doctorate in acupuncture under the tutelage of Professor Li Ding of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

He is good at insomnia, dizziness, facial paralysis, cervical spondylosis, lumbar spondylosis, joint pain, gastrointestinal disease, hemiplegia, rheumatism, asthma, breast disease, headache, insomnia, neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain. He is currently undertaking 1 National Natural Science Foundation project, 3 ministerial and provincial projects, and has won 5 provincial third prizes. He has published 69 monographs, 276 papers, and 5 national invention patents.

He is currently the leader of acupuncture, a key discipline of TCM in the 12th Five-Year Plan of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the chairman of the Acupuncture Technology and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Rehabilitation Medicine Association, the vice chairman of the Acupuncture Inheritance Working Committee of the World Federation of Acupuncture, the vice chairman of the Professional Committee of TCM Appropriate Technology Evaluation and Promotion of the World Federation of TCM, the deputy director of the Acupuncture Literature Professional Committee of the Chinese Acupuncture Association, a member of the National Acupuncture Standard Working Committee, a registered expert of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/WG3, a director of the Chinese Acupuncture Association, a medical accident technical appraisal expert of the Henan Medical Association, and a provincial academic and technical leader in Henan Province. He is the chairman of the Acupuncture Professional Committee of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, and an editorial board member of "Chinese Acupuncture" and "Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine". He is the editor-in-chief of academic works such as "Chinese Cardioencephalopathy", "Practical Chinese and Western Digestive Diseases", "Practical Chinese and Western Hepatobiliary Diseases", "Practical Chinese and Western Diabetes", "Through Moxibustion" and "Chinese Acupuncture Dictionary".
