We officially became a member institution of the AAPBS alliance

AAPBS

Recently, the Secretariat of ASSOCIATION OF ASIA-PACIFIC BUSINESS SCHOOLS (AAPBS) sent a congratulatory letter to our school to congratulate our school on the approval of the board of directors of the association and successfully joined the Asia-Pacific Business Schools.

This time our school applied for membership in the name of the school and was successfully approved. This is another important breakthrough for the school to seize the strategic opportunity of the "Belt and Road" and build a new pattern of international exchanges after our school joined the Sino-Russian Economic University Alliance. Our school’s participation in the Asia-Pacific Management School Federation will help develop universities with strong comprehensive strength and international reputation as strategic partners, promote participation in the international curriculum certification system, and continue to improve the level and level of international exchanges and cooperation.

The Asia-Pacific Management School Federation was established in 2004 and currently has more than 200 member universities, including 20 council member universities. The sponsoring institutions are from the best universities in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Sydney.

As a regional and non-profit organization initiated by the top management schools in the Asia-Pacific region, the association has promoted the improvement of management education in the Asia-Pacific region through effective cooperation since its establishment, and cultivated more outstanding management talents for the economic prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region. The association holds two important international conferences each year, annual meeting and academic conference, convening members to discuss cutting-edge theories and best practices of Asia-Pacific management education. From a long-term development perspective, the association hopes to gradually form a certification system that conforms to the characteristics of management education in the Asia-Pacific region, conform to international development trends, actively expand and expand the influence of the association, and play a positive role in consolidating management schools in the Asia-Pacific region.

Our school will actively participate in related activities of the Federation, closely cooperate and exchange with the member universities of the Federation, and discuss with many well-known universities on management science development, management frontiers, management education and other issues, which will contribute to the construction and development of the school. The school's influence and striving for high-quality international resources are of great significance.

Sasin is proud to host the AAPBS 2020 Annual Virtual Conference, on November 25 and 26. As we all know, 2020 has been a dramatic year of disruption. The AAPBS 2020 Annual Conference was to have been in Chiang Mai, organized by Chiang Mai University and Sasin School of Management. When the pandemic made a face-to-face conference impossible, AAPBS asked if Sasin would organize a virtual event this year, with Chiang Mai University to host the 2021 event in Chiang Mai.

We certainly live in extraordinary times! The COVID-19 global pandemic has affected almost every aspect of our lives - from the way we work, the way we teach, and the way we interact with family, friends, students, and colleagues. It's hard to imagine a more pervasive disruption to our schools, our industry, and our economies.

Yet it's clear that through education we can continue, and even expand the positive impact that we have on our stakeholders and on our communities. To do that, we must all review our core missions, re-examine the impact that we have on our communities, and realize that through long-term, sustainable thinking and practices, we can thrive in this disrupted world.

With this in mind, we have worked closely with the AAPBS team to arrange for some of the top leaders in sustainability, business, and education to participate in a series of keynote presentations, panel discussions, and talks around the theme: Disruption. Impact. Sustainability.

I hope that this year's virtual conference will inspire you, help you connect with your colleagues from around the region, learn new ideas, and share your school's successful initiatives as we will all strive to transform our organizations in this year of change and disruption.
