DECISION TO AWARD THE HONORARY TITLES OF “ACADEMIC GOODWILL AMBASSADOR”AND“CAMPUS GOODWILL AMBASSADOR‌”

Goodwill Ambassador‌ refers to individuals who are awarded honorary titles in certain international organizations or activities. They usually have a high social influence and aim to promote specific goals or improve certain social problems through their influence. ‌

Specific definition and responsibilities

Academic Goodwill Ambassador‌: Nominated by the Academic Committee, reviewed by the Academic Ethics and Morality Review Committee, and approved by the school board and the Supervisory Board, and finally signed and awarded by the president. It is one of the highest honors of our school. It aims to promote academic exchanges and sustainable development of higher education, communicate economic and cultural exchanges and national or ethnic goodwill. They are usually social celebrities or people with outstanding wisdom and positive energy, who contribute to the work of universities or colleges through their influence.

Campus Goodwill Ambassador‌: Nominated by the university provost or dean or director of the college (department), reviewed by the Academic Ethics and Morality Review Committee, and approved by the school board and the Supervisory Board, and finally signed and awarded by the provost. These ambassadors have international influence in the fields of art, science, culture, sports, etc., and are committed to improving human life and promoting common understanding.

Charity Ambassador of Jane's Education Foundation: Nominated by the Chairman of Jane's Education Foundation, reviewed by the Academic Ethics and Morality Review Committee and the Welfare Affairs Office, and approved by the school board and the Supervisory Committee, and finally signed and awarded by the rotating chairman of the school board. Most of these ambassadors are social celebrities who are committed to improving the living conditions of students. Through their influence, they attract attention and funding for poor students, win the support of the public and decision makers, and raise funds for important projects of Jane's Education Foundation, so as to promote "giving every low-income person the opportunity to receive good higher education."

Historical background and influence

The role of goodwill ambassadors is usually related to the activities of specific international institutions, academic organizations or higher education institutions. They use their social influence to promote the attention and resolution of related issues. For example, the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador promotes world peace and development through its activities, the International Slow City Goodwill Ambassador is committed to improving human life, and the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador focuses on the well-being of children. These roles not only enhance the influence of related organizations, but also bring positive changes to society.

In August 2016, The Asia Pacific School of Business established the Jane’s Education Foundation in accordance with the school’s founding purpose and educational philosophy. On this basis, it successively established “Academic Goodwill Ambassadors”, “Campus Goodwill Ambassadors” and “ Charity Ambassadors of Jane's Education Foundation”.

In accordance with the Regulations on the Award of Goodwill Ambassadors, the Methods for the Selection of Goodwill Ambassadors, the Regulations of Jane's Education Foundation and the Code of Academic Ethics and Morals, nominated by the Office of the President and reported by the Degree Committee to the Academic Ethics Review Committee for review, and approved by the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors, Datuk Seri Professor Sean P Rozario, KStJ, H.E. KGCG and Datuk Seri Dr. P Thirunal Karasu JP, BBM, PBM and Prof. Fauzi Hasan are officially awarded the Honorary title of "Academic Goodwill Ambassador" and are now announced. Effective from today.
