ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE AWARDING OF HONORARY DOCTORATES

Honorary Doctoral Degree is an honorary degree, usually awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of academic, economic, educational, scientific, cultural and health.

Awarding conditions and objects

The recipients of honorary doctoral degrees mainly include

‌Outstanding foreign scholars and scientists‌: have made significant achievements in a certain discipline, received awards recognized by the international academic community, and made important contributions to promoting international academic exchanges and cooperation.

‌Famous politicians and social activists‌: have made special contributions to maintaining world peace and human progress, or have made significant contributions to supporting the country's legitimate rights and interests in the international arena, promoting friendly exchanges and comprehensive cooperation.

Awarding procedures

The procedure for awarding honorary doctoral degrees usually includes the following steps:

‌Nomination and recommendation‌: The relevant units or departments nominate the persons to be awarded honorary doctoral degrees.

‌Review and approval‌: The degree evaluation committee of the awarding institution shall review and approve the list of awardees, submit it to the Academic Ethics and Morality Review Committee for review, and be jointly approved by the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors.

‌Awarding‌: After approval, the awarding unit officially awards the honorary doctoral degree.

Historical Background and International Recognition

Honorary doctoral degrees are accepted in most countries around the world. The Asia Pacific School of Business began to award honorary doctoral degrees in 2010 to recognize foreign scholars, scientists, politicians and social activists who have made outstanding contributions in various fields.

According to the Regulations on the Award of Honorary Doctoral Degrees, the Standard Procedures for the Selection of Honorary Doctors and Academicians, and the Code of Academic Ethics and Morals, after being reported by the Academic Committee and the Degree Committee, reviewed by the University Affairs Committee and the Academic Ethics and Morals Review Committee, and approved by the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors, Datuk Seri Professor Sean P Rozario, KStJ, H.E. KGCG and Datuk Seri Dr. P Thirunal Karasu JP, BBM, PBM and Prof. Fauzi Hasan are officially awarded the academic title of "Honorary PhD in Business Administration Philosophy" and are now announced. Effective from today.
