ANNOUNCEMENT ON USING THE FLYING LION IMAGE AS A MASCOT
The symbolic meaning of the flying lion mainly includes strength, wisdom and majesty. The flying lion is usually depicted holding a book (representing wisdom) or holding a sword, symbolizing strength and wisdom. The symbol of wings represents enlightenment and the freedom of flying.
According to historical records, as early as around 1160 AD, a prince from Sumatra traveled to the island by boat and saw a black-headed, white-chested monster. The locals told him it was called "Singa" (lion), and later the place was called "Singapura", which is the origin of the name "Singapore" (also known as "Lion City").
As a private higher education institution with a high reputation in Singapore, The Asia Pacific School of Business upholds the cultural tradition, is based in Singapore, and inherits the Chinese culture. The "flying lion" is used as the mascot, which not only represents the purpose of "integrating Chinese and Western cultures, and integrating knowledge and practice", but also demonstrates the concept of "enlightening virtue to clarify ambition, benevolence and love".
In view of this, with the approval of the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors, our school officially uses the "flying lion" as the mascot graphic logo (visual system) to inspire more faculty and students to be closely connected with the school and live forever.
