NOTICE ON THE TRIAL AIGC TESTING OF GRADUATION THESIS (DESIGN)

Departments, campuses, joint graduate schools and joint dual degree program offices:

In order to further strengthen academic ethics and academic integrity education, create a good academic ecology, standardize students' scientific and reasonable use of AIGC technology, eliminate academic misconduct such as artificial intelligence ghostwriting, plagiarism, forgery, and strengthen the quality monitoring and management of graduation design (thesis), the school has issued the "SEVERAL REGULATION SON THE EUSEO FAITOOLS IN PAPERS (DESIGNS), (TRIAL VERSION)" document on December 18, 2024.

According to the spirit of the document, our school has decided to apply the "AIGC Testing System" to the final drafts of the graduation thesis (design) of undergraduate, master and doctoral graduates after defense, and select a certain proportion for AIGC testing. The specific matters are hereby notified as follows:

1. Testing object The school will randomly select AIGC testing for the final drafts of all undergraduate, master and doctoral graduates after defense from December 20, 2024, at a ratio of no less than 20% for each major.

2. Detection method The "AIGC detection system" has been embedded in the graduation thesis (design) management system. Students upload the final version of the graduation thesis (design) after defense in the "Final version of the graduation thesis (design)" module. After the instructor reviews and approves it on the system, the system will automatically perform duplicate detection and AIGC detection. After the detection is completed, students and instructors can query the graduation thesis (design) detection results respectively.

3. AIGC detection result processing If the AIGC detection result of the paper is highly suspected, the following processing methods shall be followed:

1. Warning and reminder:

The secondary college issues a warning to the student, reminding him to pay attention to the problem of too high proportion of intelligently generated content in the graduation thesis (design), and requires him to self-check and correct himself and make necessary modifications to the graduation thesis (design). Cancel the qualification for the selection of excellent graduation thesis (design) at the school level.

2. Modification and re-examination:

After receiving the warning, the student needs to carefully modify the graduation thesis (design) to reduce the proportion of intelligently generated content. After the modification is completed, the student needs to resubmit the modified graduation thesis (design) to the system and recheck it on the AIGC detection channel of the paper duplication detection platform. If the detection result is highly suspected, the graduation thesis (design) score will be counted as "zero".

3. Strengthen academic integrity education:

For students with high suspicion in AIGC detection, each secondary college should make special records of each link and properly archive them for future reference, strengthen academic integrity education, improve students' understanding of academic norms and academic ethics, guide students to establish correct academic concepts, and prevent the occurrence of academic misconduct.
