DECISION ON THE APPOINTMENT OF DR. JINGHUI LI AS A VISITING PROFESSOR OF OUR SCHOOL

Our website reported that on the evening of October 31, Dr. Jinghui Li visited our Shenzhen Education Center and gave a special lecture on "Insights on the Introduction of High-quality Higher Education Resources in Sino-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools" to our students, and was appointed as a visiting professor of our School of Continuing Education. The leaders who attended the lecture included Dr. Jian Yinyiyan, the rotating chairman of the Board of Directors, Dean Zhang Fuqiang of the School of Continuing Education, Vice Deans Chen Jinwei and Liu Huiying, Vice Dean Liu Yong of Academic Affairs, Dr. Lin Wanli, Director of the International Exchange Center, and Zhuang Ke, Director of the Shenzhen Education Center, and other school (department) leaders. Dean Zhang Fuqiang presided over the lecture and launched the appointment ceremony.

Before the lecture began, Dean Zhang Fuqiang of the School of Continuing Education issued a visiting professor appointment certificate to Dr. Jinghui Li and presented a souvenir.

In the lecture, Dr. Jinghui Li analyzed the trend of higher education in the post-epidemic era and the necessity of introducing high-quality higher education resources, and emphasized the need to recognize the status of Sino-foreign higher education cooperation. She believes that since China began to implement the strategic shift of education reform, people should start thinking about how China's higher education can shift from scale expansion to quality improvement, and from a large country in higher education to a strong country in higher education.

At the same time, she also pointed out that Sino-foreign cooperation in higher education occupies an important position in China's opening up to the outside world. After China joined the WTO, it has become increasingly connected with the global economy, and the trend of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools has become increasingly obvious. Therefore, the introduction of foreign superior resources is conducive to China's higher education reform. However, he emphasized that when introducing foreign superior resources, it must meet the needs of China's modernization and make appropriate changes.

The mechanism of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools is becoming more mature

"Under the current circumstances, China does not have a market operation and macro-control mechanism for cooperative higher education, making it difficult to achieve "studying abroad without leaving the country." Dr. Jinghui Li pointed out that the main problem facing China's current Sino-foreign cooperation in higher education projects is that China has not allowed foreign institutions to run schools independently in China, and foreign institutions must find partners in China. And because of the differences between China and foreign countries in culture, system, etc., Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools is difficult.

Dr. JINGHUI LI analyzes the current prospects of Sino-foreign cooperative education

"But after more than 20 years of development, the mechanism of Sino-foreign cooperative education is gradually becoming standardized and mature. Cooperative education is conducive to learning advanced educational content, educational concepts and educational management methods from abroad, improving the quality of higher education in my country, and also to improving the competitiveness and reputation of Chinese universities."

Seeing problems and solving confusions Education level needs to be improved

When talking about several problems in the introduction of high-quality higher education resources, Dr. JINGHUI LI said that the current higher education resources introduced are mixed and the overall level is not high. This includes the need to improve the qualification level of foreign teachers and the lack of effective management of school operations. In addition, the relevant departments focus on approval and neglect teaching quality, which has damaged the assets and income of school-running units. In addition, due to loopholes in enrollment management and the imperfect degree certification system, students face the embarrassing situation of "having certificates but no one recognizes" after graduation.

Hope to promote development in the future, the road is tortuous but bright

Combining the above issues, Dr. JINGHUI LI said: "I hope to strengthen international cooperation, establish global recognition of qualifications and certificates, and improve the information query system of foreign degrees and educational institutions, which can optimize educational resources and effectively protect the interests of students." Then, she proposed that strengthening academic certification, curriculum development, teaching management and research system construction is the most basic foundation for cooperative education. How to adjust and optimize the layout of regions, disciplines and majors, and adhere to the combination of "bringing in" and "going out" strategies is the top priority of China's higher education at present. In the subsequent interview, Dr. JINGHUI LI concluded: "The road of Sino-foreign cooperative education will not be smooth, but the future is bright."
